Information on Diarrhea Causes, Symptoms
Diarrhea is a special type of disorder that develops inside the digestion system that can rapidly cause dehydration which is extremely dangerous in most cases. People can get diarrhea at all ages but the effect of it will not be the same for everyone. Depending on the age and health conditions of the patient, diarrhea can be observed differently in adults and children. In many cases with adults, the type of diarrhea will be acute or short-term, and usually will not last more than a few days. And after a while it will go away itself even if the patient will not receive any special treatments.
However, it is quite dangerous in case of children or elder people who have weak immune system. The key signs of the diarrhea include dry mouth and skin, excessive thirst, severe weakness, dizziness or lightheadedness, little or no urination. If such symptoms are observed in the patient, urgent medical attention is required to avoid any serious health problems.

The main causes of diarrhea can be bacteria (contaminated food or water), viruses (rotavirus and adenovirus), medication (antibiotics), food intolerances and allergies, parasites (giardia lamblia and cryptosporidium).
|
In case of acute diarrhea, the human body itself will utilize self-cleansing mechanism that will eliminate an irritant. But if the diarrhea is chronic or it is persisting more than a weak causing various health problems, then the only treatment will be the replacement of the lost fluid and electrolytes to prevent dehydration.
As an option, the usage of the medicines such as IMODIUM (Synonims: Loperamide) can also be considered as in most cases these medicines have been proven to be extremely helpful. But it is strongly recommended for people, whose diarrhea is in the form of a bacterial and infection, or even parasites to avoid usage of the medicines. In such cases stopping the diarrhea will trap the organism in the intestines which in turn will prolong the problem.
